Through its scholarships, TAIPI aims to increase the number of trained professionals in the field of psychedelic-assisted therapy in Estonia.

Triin Arbo is a child and adolescent psychiatrist with a keen interest in biological psychiatry and everything that lies at the intersection of psychiatry and somatic medicine. Her other area of interest is the individual psyche and its connections to a person’s life course. She applies this knowledge through the use of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy with children, adolescents, and adults.

“Despite the various existing medications and psychological interventions, there are still many treatment-resistant patients, so the idea of psychedelic-assisted therapy felt very appealing to me,” Arbo explained. “It represents an opportunity to combine biology and therapy. I believe the use of psychedelics must be strictly regulated, but I hope that their application in medically indicated and controlled settings could become an important new treatment option—initially, of course, among adults.”

The MIND Foundation’s Augmented Psychotherapy Training (APT) is a 15-month professional training program in the field of psychedelic-assisted therapy. It outlines the competencies and knowledge required for the safe, effective, and ethical implementation of psychedelic therapy within mental health care. The program provides a framework for various psychedelic substances (such as psilocybin, LSD, and MDMA) and therapeutic approaches, integrating psychotherapeutic, medical, philosophical, social, and legal aspects into practical skills. The training begins in November.

TAIP is also pleased to announce that another Estonian specialist, Viktoria Saat, will be joining the MIND Foundation’s program, having received a scholarship directly from the Foundation. One of TAIP’s goals is to support the development of Estonian mental health professionals and to bring internationally recognized expertise to Estonia, ensuring that the introduction of new forms of therapy will be smooth and safe. As the legalization of psychedelic-assisted therapy methods is expected in the coming years, it is crucial that the country already has trained and prepared specialists.

The recipient of the TAIP scholarship was selected through a public competition. Applicants submitted their CVs, motivation letters, and proof of admission to the MIND Foundation’s APT program. The applications were evaluated by a three-member committee: Viljar Veede, Chair of the TAIP Supervisory Board; Oliver Berg, Member of the Management Board; and Cristina Kroon, Scientific Advisor.

Learn more about the MIND Foundation’s APT program:

If you care about a healthier tomorrow—one where psychedelic-assisted therapy is part of our national healthcare system—consider supporting TAIP:

[21

post-1221","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
