Massage Therapy

Relief from physical and mental tension

Massage therapy helps relieve both physical and emotional tension. It has a direct and reflexive effect through the skin’s nerve receptors, which are closely connected to the central nervous system.

Massages are usually performed on a massage table, and session lengths may vary based on the client’s needs (30 min, 1 hr, or 1.5 hrs).

Classical Massage

… also known as Swedish massage is one of the most common types of massage, and its goal is to restore the musculoskeletal system. Classical massage (also referred to as general massage) primarily activates blood and lymph circulation, stimulates metabolism, reduces head and muscle tension, strengthens the immune system, and alleviates stress. In the long term, the elasticity of tendons, ligaments, and subcutaneous connective tissue improves, intestinal peristalsis is promoted, and the mobility between different tissues increases. Massage has a relaxing effect in cases of mental and physical tension, and it has both a direct and reflexive impact on the body through nerve receptors located in the skin, which are closely connected to the central nervous system.

Classical massage is performed on a special massage table, and oil is generally used. Depending on the client’s preferences or needs, either a full body massage is performed or focus is placed only on problematic areas (such as the back, neck, nape, shoulders, arms, legs, etc.).

Aroomteraapia

Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy massage is a relaxing massage performed with smooth movements.

Aromatherapy massage can relieve muscle tension, stress, and pain. It can also help treat colds, stimulate blood circulation, improve mood, enhance the skin, and stimulate lymph flow and the digestive system.

The main goal of aromatherapy is to stabilize the overall balance of the body. The use of essential oils is a scientifically justified ancient art that has become a method of alternative medicine, based on the laws of nature, the healing properties of plants, and the ancient experience of humankind. During the massage, essential oils penetrate deep into the skin and, through the intercellular fluid, enter the lymph and from there into the bloodstream. In addition to their antiseptic and antimicrobial properties, essential oils have detoxifying, antiviral, and wound-healing effects, and they possess a power that awakens life energy.

Essential oils are always used diluted with a base oil obtained through cold pressing. Base oils are rich in vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids. Plant oil molecules are well absorbed by the skin, nourishing and improving the texture of the skin.

Maarja Läänelaid

(Classical, aromatherapy, and cupping massage)

My interest in the harmony of body and mind arose long ago, but it found expression through massage in 2016.

I follow the principle that the harmony of body and mind is the foundation of holistic well-being – a state in which a person feels balanced both physically and mentally. Massage is one of the most effective ways to restore and maintain this harmony. Therefore, I have structured my massage sessions holistically, taking into account the person’s current state and influencing it through the balance of their various senses.
