Pilates for Children and Youth
Focus through movement – from body awareness to wellness
This class helps children become more aware of their bodies through movement. They learn how bones move, what muscles do, and how to keep the body in good shape. Using Pilates-based exercises, the focus is on posture, strength, and endurance. A healthy body supports a healthy mind. As school days grow longer and time for movement shrinks, it becomes even more important to create space for physical activity—for both mental and physical well-being.
Class time:
Wednesdays 16:30–17:30
Pilates for Children and Youth (Group Class)
The class aims to improve posture and body awareness. As a mother of three, Mari has seen firsthand how children’s bodies change. Her goal is to help them stay connected to their bodies. The class includes Pilates exercises, along with strengthening and stretching routines.

I’ve been working with the human body my entire life. I started various physical activities at a young age, followed by 15 years of ballet at Fouette Ballet School, including a scholarship year at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York. I’ve also taken part in numerous workshops. I’ve danced as a soloist on stages in Estonia and internationally.
Over time, I became increasingly curious about how the body works, how injuries and trauma affect it, and how to recover from them. My main question became: how can I feel good in my body? That’s what led me to Pilates. In 2007, I went to Toronto to study the Stott Pilates method. Training under experienced teachers helped me understand anatomy and body mechanics.
It’s been an exciting journey with no end in sight. I continue to learn from world-renowned teachers such as Madeline Black, Deborah Lessen, Fiona McIntosh, Allie Greene, Michael King, Alan Herdman, Moira Merrithew, and Tom Waldron.
Seeing how today’s children grow, I want to raise their awareness of posture, movement, and the physical patterns that develop over time.
