Cupping Massage

Cupping massage uses cups made of rubber, silicone, glass, or clay in different sizes. They’re applied to muscles, joints, and various body points. The vacuum effect created by the cup draws in soft tissue, enabling deeper manipulation. Cupping is often combined with classic massage using rubber cups of various sizes.

The vacuum created pulls skin and muscle both vertically and horizontally, allowing for deep tissue treatment. This enhances lymphatic and blood circulation and metabolism. It reduces muscle tension, tightens skin, cleanses pores, and improves skin function, organ performance, and circulation. It also boosts skin immunity and response at acupuncture points.

Cupping is effective against cellulite. Sessions begin and end with classical massage techniques. Cupping also has a positive psychological and emotional effect.

Techniques:

Traditional cupping uses glass cups heated to create a vacuum. Modern cups use a pump for vacuum without heat.
Today’s cupping massage evolved from this traditional method and is typically combined with classical massage using rubber cups.

History:

Cupping has been used by the Chinese and Arabs for thousands of years. Bloodletting cups were used around 3300 BCE in Egypt and the Mediterranean. In Estonian folk medicine, cupping had its place, and in Finland, it remains popular.

In traditional cupping, there’s “dry” and “wet” cupping. In wet cupping, a small incision is made to draw blood into the cup, aiming to remove toxins from the body.

Cupping leaves circular bruises that fade in a few days. Avoid placing cups on bony areas like ribs or spine.
