Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy massage is an ancient healing art. Skillful selection of essential oils and slow, gentle strokes help alleviate many issues such as emotional instability, sleep problems, blood pressure fluctuations, stress, muscle tension, and cellulite. Aromatherapy combines light classical massage strokes with the healing power of essential plant oils.

Each essential oil has its own function. Some benefit specific organs, others have general effects. Some oils calm, others energize or detoxify. For example, certain oils calm and balance the nervous system. Many essential oils are antiseptic and even antiviral or anti-inflammatory. A certified aromatherapist can help select the right oil.

Oils remain in the body for a long time — for instance, immune-boosting oils can stay in the system up to 72 hours, rejuvenating tissues and improving skin elasticity. During aromatherapy, oil molecules are absorbed into the bloodstream, promoting relaxation and healing.

Aromatherapy helps people cope with stress, release inner tension, and positively affects various physical issues.

Recommendations:

  • Drink plenty of water before and after the massage to aid detoxification.
  • Avoid alcohol before and after the session.
  • Don’t shower for 6–8 hours after the massage, as washing off the oil too soon reduces the effect.
  • Avoid tanning or using a solarium the day after using citrus oils.
  • Don’t come for a massage with a full or completely empty stomach.
  • Avoid intense physical activity right before or after the massage.
